Prepare yourself for another Rolling Loud festival, this time in California's Bay Area. The hip hop music event recently took place in Miami and had its share of controversial moments. There were reports of gunfire, which officials claimed were false, resulting in a stampede of concert-goers trampling over each other to reach the exits. Lil Wayne reportedly dropped out of the show over security probes and Kodak Black was arrested before his performance and is still behind bars.

Hopefully, this next go-round will be smoother than the last as the festival has announced its Bay Area lineup. On Saturday, September 27, fans will enjoy the sounds of the Bay's G-Eazy along with Future, 21 Savage, Blueface, Gunna, Trippie Redd, Ski Mask The Slump God, SOB x RBE, Megan Thee Stallion, Yung Bans, Young Dolph, Kamaiyah, and surprisingly, Kodak Black is on the bill.

On Sunday, September 28, the lineup includes, Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WRLD, Playboi Carti, Tyga, Nav, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, DaBaby, Lil Mosey, Curren$y, Lil Gotit, Rico Nasty, Lil Keed, and more. Rolling Loud will soon be introducing their first ever New York event, so we'll keep you updated when more news is announced, along with their Los Angeles shows. Tickets for the Rolling Loud Bay Area goes on sale this Friday.

More states are opting to decriminalize the growth, use, and sale of marijuana as activists—from the Average Joe to celebrities—have spoken out about the subject worldwide. While many cannabis companies have been instrumental in shifting the public's perspective when it comes to marijuana, Killer Mike believes that the rap industry deserves to have some respect put on its name because hip hop artists have had a strong hand in weed acceptance.

During The Washington Post's third annual "Free to State" summit, the Run The Jewels artist was apart of a panel of professionals who discussed the biggest free speech issues in 2019. As they spoke about marijuana, Killer Mike mentioned that in the criminal justice system, white people are far less likely to find themselves locked up over weed charges. However, he said that black people often find themselves facing lengthy sentences for non-violent, marijuana-related offenses. As the United States becomes more accepting of marijuana use and distribution, especially now that 15 states have decriminalized marijuana in the past year alone, people need to start giving rappers credit for being the pioneers who removed prejudices regularly associated with marijuana use.

"We know that with national decriminalization of marijuana now, a lot of people are going to get credit for it—a lot of activists, a lot of workers," Killer Mike said. "But I can show you a line that leads straight back to Cypress Hill, that leads straight back to Snoop Dogg, that leads straight back to people like Rick James."

"If it's not duly acknowledged publicly...if the media isn't pushing the line of that narrative, if the media isn't giving us that freedom, if the media treats rappers differently than they do country artists, then you're going to see a galvanization of what the prejudices that we already see," he said. The fight to lift bans on the usage, sale, and possession of marijuana continues. Although there have been great strides in the battle to legalize weed everywhere, there are still people who believe that weed is dangerous—if not on its own, then because it's a "gateway drug" that leads to addictions to stronger substances. It's a thought process that has been embedded in the minds of millions for generations thanks to after-school specials, public service announcements, and organizations like D.A.R.E.

People who advocate for the legalization of marijuana are attempting to share information about its medicinal benefits as well as dispel the rumors and misinformation that has been shoveled to the public. Cannaramic, an online cannabis event, recently shared a clip of Redman giving his opinion about marijuana use. The rapper stated that if he had to choose, he'd rather his children buy weed than alcohol.

"I would rather my kids to go buy a eighth than go buy some liquor and be on the road," he said. "Go buy some liquor and something else happen that...the kind of attention that liquor brings than marijuana. Marijuana don't bring a really kind of loud, kind of ranty or a kind of attitude where you wanna hurt someone. I've never known weed to do that. Liquor, yes, but it's easy to buy," Redman continued. "But what can we do?"

Kylie Jenner made sure that Travis Scott had the greatest birthday week he could ask for. The pair had multiple parties with their family and friends, she rented a billboard to give him a birthday shout out, they dressed up as superheroes with their daughter Stormi, she had custom cakes designed to fit his tastes, she shared her love for him publicly on social media, and word on the street is she ordered a massive amount of marijuana edibles for his most recent birthday party at the Universal Studios backlot.

The Blast reports that Kiva Confections was the company behind the creation of the weed-laced sweets. They say that Jenner had to get inventive because the venue that hosted the soiree didn't allow smoking inside. Kiva Confections came to the rescue, reportedly fulfilling the order with 100 types of edibles including all sorts of snacks, candies, gummies, and chocolates.

"We’re told every single flavor of chocolate bar was provided, and over 50 bags of their Camino cannabis-infused gummies," The Blast states. "There were also limited-edition 4/20 Munchies Bars, which sold out in dispensaries, and are chock full of pretzels, potato chips and cookie dough." Scott thoroughly enjoyed his gas station-themed party where a tattoo artist was even on deck to give him and Kid Cudi matching "Rager" ink.

We'd like to fall into the illusion that entertainers have always strived to achieve their goals of being accomplished artists, but many come from humble beginnings that often include trauma and serious hardships. We've all watched as Wendy Williams has recently opened up about her addiction issues and struggles with sobriety. She's shared her story throughout her career, at times to her detriment as people have used it against her, but she's used it as a way to help others and even launched her organization, The Hunter Foundation. 

Empire actress Tasha Smith has an extensive resumé and has been on both the large and small screens for over 20 years, but the Camden, New Jersey native's life almost went a different route. She's known as having a loud, outspoken, and recognizable voice (if you've ever seen Why Did I Get Married? then you already know), and she isn't afraid to speak her mind, but according to her, she was much different in her early life.

In a recent interview on Uncensored, Smith revealed that she has wonderful memories of growing up in Camden, but those come with experiences one would like to forget, as well. "As beautiful as Camden was, it was a place where I dealt with sexual, physical abuse, a place where I did all kinds of drugs," she says. "I was doing cocaine at the age of 14. I really could have been a crackhead today" adding "it was also a place that gave me a lot of resilience, perseverance and hustle."

Smith said that when she turned 18, she left Camden to follow her dreams by moving to Los Angeles. She landed small roles in various projects and was later featured in shows and films including ATL, Daddy's Little Girls, Playas Ball, The Steve Harvey Show, The Parkers, Girlfriends, and much more.

"We all have situations to overcome, but you don't quit," Smith said. "You keep trying."

As the days move forward following Nipsey Hussle's murder, reports will inevitably start pouring in about the late rapper and what led to his untimely death. TMZ is sharing information from their sources, and the publication reports that the rapper knew that there was someone out to get him just days before he died.

Three days prior to Nipsey's murder, he was on set in Inglewood with John Legend and DJ Khaled shooting a music video for their collaboration "Higher." The track is reportedly a feature on Khaled's forthcoming album, Father of Asahd, that's expected to drop this May. TMZ states the Nipsey's team was alerted of possible danger while filming in Los Angeles, and the production crew "wanted the entire structure shut down so that only folks working the shoot would have access."

They also report that 10 police officers were on the scene "because of concerns over Nipsey's safety." However, there were no problems on set and both Legend and Khaled shared their condolences on social media without mentioning that there were any issues related to the rapper's safety in his own city.

"RIP Nipsey," Legend tweeted. "I just spent Thursday with him filming a video for a beautiful new song we created with Khaled. We filmed in Inglewood, close to where he grew up. He was so gifted, so proud of his home, so invested in his community. Utterly stunned that he's gone so soon."

Music video director Eif Rivera wrote about meeting Nipsey while recently filming the music video. "I had the honor to meet Nipsey on this video shoot with Dj Khaled just a couple days ago," Rivera wrote on Instagram. "He was a good soul. We were excited about this shoot. Just last night I met with Ludacris and told him how great it was working with Nip. I leave Luda and 5 mins later I run into Nip. We had a great conversation about Life. Damn. I pray for his family. This gotta stop."

Meanwhile, TMZ also reports that the Los Angeles Police Department hopes to keep the peace in the community. They reportedly fear that Nipsey's death will lead to more deaths and have concerns over violent community fallout.
