
Cannabis edibles, extracts and topicals became available for sale through the Ontario Cannabis Store’s (OCS) website Thursday morning, but it didn’t take long for demand to outrace supply.
All cannabis edibles are sold out.
The OCS warned that supplies would be limited during the initial rollout.
The province’s pot distributor said 70 new items tested by Health Canada were available for purchase online as of 9 a.m. local time.

Fifty new retail cannabis licenses will be awarded on Tuesday as Ontario moves forward with its second lottery.
The lottery will be handing out licenses to sell legal marijuana to 42 retail stores, including 13 in Toronto and six in the rest of the GTA, while eight more will be given to First Nations Reserves through a separate, first-come first-serve basis.
Unlike the first lottery in January, which saw 25 retail licenses handed out, this one required applicants to provide confirmation they had secured a lease, along with the capital to run it.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commision of Ontario said a bank letter confirming access to $250,000 cash and another confirming the ability to get a $50,000 standby letter of credit was needed to apply.

B.C is no stranger to cannabis and a new UN report says the province is smoking more than any other province.
The numbers don’t come as a surprise for people out on the street in Vancouver today. “That’s sort of the perception and stereotype in B.C., we think of as the home of cannabis consumption in Canada because the climate is more favourable,” says Brad.
More than a quarter of people in B.C. over the age of 15 report using cannabis in 2017.
The 2019 World Drug Report released by the United Nation’s Office on Drug and Crime on June 26 reported higher numbers of Cannabis use across the country between the 2011 and 2017.
