California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said it’s “critical” that federal marijuana legalization “allow our farmers to legally supply the rest of the nation.” He recently signed an interstate cannabis commerce bill.

A new poll found that Missouri very likely voters support the marijuana legalization initiative on the November ballot, 47 percent to 39 percent. With a week to go until Election Day, 14 percent of voters are undecided.

A bipartisan group of House and Senate lawmakers led by Reps. Conor Lamb (D-PA) and Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA), along with Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) sent a letter asking the State Department to do more to free American citizen Marc Fogel, who is jailed in Russia over medical cannabis used to treat chronic pain.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) said now is not the time to legalize marijuana. Democratic opponent Tom Sherman, currently a state senator, said he supports legalization.

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly (D) tweeted, “It’s also time we legalize medical marijuana to help Kansans suffering from chronic pain. It will help grow our economy and bring new opportunities to Kansas. It’s long overdue.” She also tweeted, “Next up on The Road Ahead, we’ll focus on building a stronger, healthier workforce by…Legalizing Medical Marijuana…”

Ohio’s secretary of state cited medical cannabis being in the state Constitution as an example of why he believes it should be harder for citizens to qualify amendments for the ballot.

Texas’s agriculture commissioner falsely accused Democratic opponent Susan Hays of lying about having a hemp permit, which she responded to with a screenshot of her license.

Arkansas’s marijuana legalization campaign said it has raised $13 million in campaign contributions.

The South Dakota legislature’s Rules Review Committee approved changes to medical cannabis regulations.
