LAST PRISONER PROJECT – Our 2020 Annual Report highlights the successes achieved, as well as the challenges faced, by LPP in 2020. The detailed report also provides our supporters with information about our finances, operations and plans for the future.

There’s no doubt that 2020 was a year marked by tremendous challenges. At the same time, the issues made even more urgent by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as our national reckoning around race, equity and justice, provided the Last Prisoner Project team with an even more intense sense of clarity and purpose.

Thanks in large part to your support and partnership, the LPP team was able to harness this renewed sense of energy and dedication to make great strides towards a world free of cannabis-related incarceration. This is the world we need and deserve, and LPP will continue to work tirelessly to get us there.

That said, we’re excited to share LPP’s 2020 Annual Report with you, our dedicated partners and supporters. The publication—LPP’s first—takes an in-depth look at our work over the past year, the challenges faced, as well as success stories. We encourage you to take a look and learn more about our direct service programs, our policy initiatives, and most importantly, the people whose lives have been bettered thanks to your generous contributions of time, resources and expertise.

We know you all have made great sacrifices to make this work possible, and in return, we hope to provide you with an additional level of openness and transparency. To that end, the Annual Report contains detailed information about Last Prisoner Project‘s finances and operations over the past year.

As we scale and build out our capacity to serve even more people in jurisdictions across the country, we remain deeply committed to staying as efficient and impactful as possible. Which is why we’re proud to share that our 2020 use-of-funds analysis saw LPP not just meet, but exceed, national benchmarks governing the efficiency and effectiveness of not-for-profit organizations.

While we’re deeply humbled and grateful to have had the opportunity to achieve so much in just one full year of operations, know that our minds, as well as our efforts, never waver from doing everything in our power to fight against the injustice that is cannabis-related criminal justice involvement.

It’s a wild ride, no doubt, and we’re incredibly thankful to have each and every one of you along for it.

Towards freedom,

The LPP Team
