The House of Representatives approved a bill to federally legalize marijuana, expunge records, create a federal cannabis excise tax and fund programs to repair the harms of the war on drugs.
Top lawmakers and organizations—including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and the ACLU—weighed in on the House’s passage of a federal marijuana legalization bill.
Committees in Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies took up a Senate-passed marijuana legalization bill over the weekend. The country’s Supreme Court has given lawmakers a December 15 deadline to end cannabis prohibition.
The federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality is asking the public to help compile research on the role of marijuana and kratom in treating chronic pain.
