When a Taranaki family’s worst fear struck, and their toddler’s rare disease made him start self-mutilating, it was cannabis oil they turned to – and it changed everything.

Nash Jones, 2, has the rare Lecsh-Nyhan Syndrome, which results in kidney issues, physical and mental disabilities, and can bring on serious self-mutilating behaviours such as finger biting and eye gouging.

But the oil, which is prescribed through a chemist, has changed him and his family’s life completely. Nash has stopped trying to hurt himself and started enjoying everything more, his parents say.
